Audience measurement with 51.la
This site loads a single audience measurement script from 51.la so I can see, in aggregate, which pages are read and which search terms bring readers in. The data I look at is page-level and aggregate: counts, referrers, rough geography. I do not attempt to identify anyone, and I have no dashboard ambition beyond knowing whether a page is useful to anyone at all.
If you prefer not to be counted, a standard content blocker or the browser setting that blocks third-party scripts will stop the measurement. The notebook reads perfectly well with the script blocked; nothing on the page depends on it.
No advertising cookies of my own
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising networks, no affiliate trackers, and no retargeting of any kind. There is no account system, no commenting system, and no newsletter capture, so there is nothing on the site that could hold a profile of you between visits. What I publish is static text; it does not know who is reading it.
Third-party scripts in general
The only third-party script this site loads is the 51.la measurement script described above. No fonts, icon libraries, or analytics suites are pulled from anywhere else. If that ever changes, this notice changes with it, and the change gets dated at the bottom of the page rather than quietly patched in.
Contact and records
If you write to me about a correction, I keep the correspondence until the correction is resolved, and I keep nothing else. I do not build mailing lists, share correspondence with anyone, or retain contact records beyond the thread itself. There is no commercial relationship anywhere on this site, so there is no customer data to hold.
